DRIVER SAFETY PLEDGE I, _________________________________________________________ PLEDGE THAT BY SIGNING THE SAFETLY PLEDGE FOR THE 2011 HALF CENTURY OF PROGRESS TRACTOR RIDE, I AGREE TO ABIDE BY ALL THE RULES SET FORTH AND THAT MY TRACTOR AND DRIVER MEET ALL NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS. • I have a valid drivers license. • I have insurance on my tractor which is considered a motor vehicle while driving on Illinois roads. • I will follow all traffic laws. • I will not carry riders along on my tractor. • I will stay with my assigned group. • I will not pull anything with my tractor during the ride. • I will have my SMV sign posted on my tractor. • I will follow the Instructions of the Half Century Progress Staff and the group leader. • I will not pass other tractors on the ride unless instructed
I understand that breaking these rules may result in my removal from the drive and may affect my participation in future events.

MAIL CHECK TO: Richard Marcotte, 9191 E 6000N Rd, Grant Park, IL 60940. Deadline for Submission: August 01, 2011. Max Armstrong’s Annual Half Century of Progress Tractor Ride (Starting Time: 8:00 A.M.)
Max will lead us through approximately 54 miles of Champaign and Ford County Farmland.
Depart the Rantoul National Aviation Center Airport going west to Century Blvd.
l. At Century Blvd (l600E) turn left and proceed south.
2. Go south on 1600E to 2700N and turn right (west). Note (Nationally known Boarder Magic on the left. Continuing west, on the right Kinze Dealership, Warner Bros). Continue to 1000E.
3. At 1000E, turn right (north) crossing Rt 136 east of Dewey. Continue to 3100N, turn left and follow to 900E. At 900E take a right (north).
4. Continue on 900E proceeding north to 3300N. Turn left (west) crossing the Sangamon River and coming to the 700E marker. Turn right (north) at 700E. Note: (The East Bend Mennonite Church is on the right).
5. Proceed north on 700E, crossing Rt. 9 and continue on to the 500N marker. Turn left (west) at 500N and travel west into Gibson City.
6. Follow Max and he will lead you to Gibson City’s historic Park and Campground for LUNCH!
M&W Gear Company and Gibson City Gibson City is the home of M&W Gear Company, which was grown through the partnership of Elmo Meiners and Art Warsaw. In 1995, M & W Gear was acquired by the Alamo Group whose headuarters are in Sequin, TX; however, the headquarters of the agricultural division is still located in Gibson City, Illinois.
7. Following lunch, the Tractor Ride will resume, going south on the main street of Gibson City past various implement dealerships and continuing south on Rt. 41 to the 300N marker and turn left (east).
8. Continue on 300N to 700E and turn left (north) until you reach 500N. Turn right (east) and continue by the town of Elliot to 1100E. At the 1100E marker, turn right (south) and continue south. Note: (The historic Pantoppidan Lutheran Church will be on your left.) Continue south until you reach the 3600N marker (Ford County Line).
9. At 3600N, turn to your left (east) and continue to 1700E, turn right (south) going to 3500N where you turn left, going through the town of Ludlow and continue to 1800E. At 1800E, turn right (south) and continue to the 3200N marker. Take another right turn at 3200N going west for one mile to 1700E. Make a left turn at 1700E (Maplewood Dr.) and continue south into Rantoul. The signs will lead you back to the Rantoul National Aviation Center. If weather permits, we will re-enter the former Air Force Base under the worlds largest flying American Flag.
(Please Note: Due to road reports, etc., these directions may be altered; however, the complete 54 mile route will be marked throughout to assist you.)
